Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the 4Ds Metric platform ("the Service"), owned and operated by 4Ds Metrics and built on the 4Ds Metric framework following the Define, Design, Develop, and Deploy methodology. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. The Service

The 4Ds Metric platform provides structured, stage-gated business diagnostics, development assignments, facilitator guidance, AI-powered reviews, and progress tracking for startups, facilitators, hubs, development partners, and investors. The platform enforces sequential progression — you must complete each stage before advancing to the next.

2. Accounts & Roles

  • You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep it up to date.
  • You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.
  • You may self-select Startup or Investor roles. Facilitator and Hub/Development Partner roles are privileged and require administrator approval through our request process.
  • You may not misrepresent your identity, qualifications, or affiliation.

3. Subscriptions & Payments

Certain features are offered under paid subscription tiers (Standard, Enhanced, and Premium). Fees, billing cycles, and included features are described at the point of purchase. Subscriptions renew according to their stated period unless cancelled. Unless required by law, fees are non-refundable.

4. Your Content

You retain ownership of the products, submissions, files, and other content you upload ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited license to host, process, and display Your Content solely to operate the Service — including sharing it with facilitators, hubs, or partners you connect with, and processing it through AI features for reviews and recommendations. You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to submit Your Content.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to upload harmful, infringing, or misleading content.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts, roles, or systems.
  • Disrupt, reverse engineer, or interfere with the operation of the platform.
  • Misuse facilitator, partner, or investor functionality to harm other users.

6. AI-Generated Feedback

The Service may provide AI-generated diagnostics, recommendations, and assignment reviews. This output is provided for guidance only, may contain errors, and does not constitute professional, legal, financial, or investment advice. You are responsible for your own business decisions.

7. Intellectual Property

The 4Ds Metric framework, platform, and all associated software, content, and trademarks are owned by 4Ds Metrics or its licensors. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our intellectual property except the limited right to use the Service as intended.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will guarantee any particular business outcome or funding result.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, 4Ds Metrics shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities arising from your use of the Service.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or misuse the Service. You may stop using the Service at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
